Rooted in Selkirk, Baked with Care
Why We Bake
Wheatfield Bake Co. began with a simple frustration: it was hard to find bread in Selkirk that tasted like it came from someone's kitchen instead of a factory. So we started baking our own — long-fermented sourdough, laminated pastry, and pies made the way our grandparents made them.
Today, that same approach drives everything on Manitoba Avenue. We mix, shape, and bake everything in-house, in small batches, using local prairie ingredients whenever we can get them — from Saskatoon berries in the summer to Manitoba-milled flour year-round.
Just down the street from Selkirk Park and the Red River, we're proud to be part of the Manitoba Avenue business community — and even prouder when a regular walks in and we already know their order.
Our Values
Scratch-Made, Always
No par-baked shortcuts or frozen mixes. Doughs are mixed, shaped, and baked in-house every day.
Local First
We buy Manitoba-grown grain, Saskatoon berries, and dairy whenever local suppliers can meet our quality bar.
Community Table
We donate day-old bread to the Selkirk food bank weekly and sponsor local youth sports teams.
